This listed property was converted from an old Methodist chapel. Records of 'The Old Chapel' only go back to the middle of the last century. However, it is clear from surveys that parts of the structure are considerably older than the present building suggests. Parish records reveal that the chapel belonged to the Primitive Methodists from about 1860. The congregation grew from about a dozen at that time to over thirty after the 1st World War when there was 'much enthusiasm' for it. |

Then there wasn't enough room for
everyone who wanted to go on Sunday and the boys all sat in the
gallery and had to be kept in order with the stick.*
From this time the congregation declined and the chapel was eventually given up in the 1930s. The chapel fell into diuse until it was made into an agricultural store. Eventually it was sold in 1986 and converted into the dwelling you see now. |

Stairs from the lounge lead up to the two bedrooms, one double and one twin and both with cottage style pine beds and good quality matresses. Non-feather duvets and pillows are provided - linen is available by request. The double bedroom has a large built-in cupboard as well as a chest of drawers, bedside tables and lights. The twin-bedded room has a tallboy chest of drawers. The bathroom contains a modern suite of bath with shower attachment, washbasin w.c. and shaving point. |

Outside there is a dedicated
hardstanding area for one car; additional parking is available nearby.
Steps outside the kitchen lead to an enclosed sheltered garden with patio area, lawn, shrubs, flowerbeds and barbeque. The garden is a veritable sun trap. |
