The Slapton Community Website is best viewed at 800 X 600 resolution or higher. The site has been enhanced visually and technically over time, both FLASH and JavaScript have been added to assist downloading times and ease of navigation; the appropriate checks are being introduced for browsers that either do not support or have disabled these functions - if the FLASH logo appears below the Site blueprint you are not viewing the Site at its best.

The Site is monitored on a regular basis - if you have a problem with a link or just need information to add a feature to your own Site, just ask.

Several recent changes have been made to the Site, if you are a regular visitor and you feel that some of these changes produce unexpected results, use the refresh (F5)/reload button (Ctrl-R).

I have been asked for some indication of Site interest on the internet. Hit counters have not been used as 'hits' are considered an unreliable source of Site view statistics. A hit, strictly speaking, is a request of the Site server to supply some information. A page containing 5 pictures would generate 1 request for the page and 5 more for the pictures = 6 hits, 1 page view and 1 visit. A visitor viewing a second page would then increase these values to 7 hits (+content requests), 2 pageviews but still only 1 visit. You are welcome to view the Site statistics here -> Statistics
